For walking, try the Royal Way or the gardens mentioned above that surround the city all the way to Florian’s Gate. There are picturesque garden around the Royal Castle.

Krakow also has strong Jewish roots, demonstrated by the old ghetto, Kazimierz, where the Jews were forced to live. Beautiful antique shops are scattered throughout this area. Auschwitz is approximately a one-hour trip from Krakow.

Krakow has a broad array of different cuisines, influenced by the cultures that inhabited central Europe for centuries. But don’t go to Krakow, or anywhere in Poland, without trying some pierogis, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, or potato pancakes!
